Mr. John F. Mackey, Sr., age 60, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Friday, September 8, 2017, in a local hospital.
Mr. Mackey was born November 20, 1956, in Corona, California, and had lived in Texarkana for most of his life. He was an employee of Christus St. Michael Health Care System as a security officer, a former Miller County Sheriff Deputy, and was retired from the Arkansas Department of Community Correction. He was preceded in death by his father, Cleo Mackey, Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Mackey of Texarkana, Arkansas, one son and daughter-in-law, John Mackey Jr. and Nicohle of Fayetteville, Arkansas, two step-sons, Paul Clay and his wife Anita and Tommy Clay of Texarkana, Arkansas, his mother, Bettie Mackey of Hackett, Arkansas, one brother, Cleo (Mac) Mackey and his wife Kathy of Yorktown, Virginia, and four grandchildren, Rory Mackey, Robert Clay, Victoria Clay, and Kirsten Clay.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A. M. Monday at the Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas Chapel with Rev. Mike Mauldin officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 PM until 8 PM Sunday.
