Roger Dale Kelsey, 53, of Poteau, Oklahoma, entered into rest on Sunday, August 16, 2009 in Fayetteville, AR. He was preceded in death by his father D. J. Kelsey, He was born January 12, 1956 at Camp Chaffee, AR. He was of the Baptist faith, highly decorated Veteran of Panama and Desert Storm , a retired U.S. Army 1st Sergeant, a parachutist and served in the Special Forces, received his Master’s Degreee from the University of Arkansas, college football coach, member of the American Coaches Association, and the F.O.E. Aeries 4416. He is survived by his wife Janie, one step-son, James Stewart, his mother Angeline Kelsey of Fort Smith, three brothers, David and wife Linda Kelsey of Sallisaw, Robert and wife Cheryl of Gans, OK., and James and wife Kim of Huntington and his extended family. Funeral service will be at 9:00 a.m. Friday, August 21, 2009 at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, AR. with interment at U.S. National Cemetery at 12:00 noon at Fort Gibson, OK. with full military honors. The family will visit with family and friends on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, AR.
